Beginning Quiltmaking Class with Ann Trujillo. Students in this class will use a commercial pattern to make a simple quilt with squares and rectangles. This class is designed for the beginning student who would like to learn the basic techniques involved in making a quilt. Instructor Ann Trujillo is an experienced quilter and a gifted teacher with a boundless enthusiasm for all things quilting.
In the class Ann will be talking about fabric selection, how to use a rotary cutter and ruler and how to find and perfect an accurate 1/4" seam. In addition Ann will be discussing how to read and follow a a quilt pattern, and will be demonstrating how to assemble your quilt blocks and iron your seams. Students will begin to put their blocks together in class and Ann will talk about ways to finish the quilt.
STUDENTS MUST HAVE A SEWING MACHINE THAT THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH, HAVE SEWED ON RECENTLY AND IS IN GOOD REPAIR. (ANN IS A WOMAN OF MANY TALENTS BUT SHE WOULD BE THE FIRST TO TELL YOU THAT SEWING MACHINE TROUBLESHOOTING AND REPAIR IS NOT ONE OF THEM.)
