Instructor: Wendy Williams
3 Day Class: 10 am to 4:30 pm, September 12,13 & 14, 2018
Tea Party Pattern is included in the cost of the class.
Explore the wonderful world of combining cotton prints with wool applique and embroidery under the guidance of Australian designer and C&T Publishing author Wendy Williams. The class will focus on the blocks in the Tea Party Quilt which is created in signature style which is part folk and part contemporary. Class includes the complete pattern for each of the blocks and the center medallion. Wendy will provide instruction for the piecing, wool applique and embroidery components of the quilt and has several ideas for mixing up the blocks if students wish to create a smaller project. Wendy's quilts are characterized by the use of many, textured, fabrics and vivid use of color - this class will be a great opportunity to take in Wendy's expertise in color and design, as well learn how to create another layer to your quilt with wool applique and embroidery. This will be Wendy's first trip to teach in the US and we are so excited to be able to have her teach at Quilted Strait.
Wendy's background is in patchwork and textile design. Wendy worked as a pattern design and teacher in the fashion industry but has always had a passion for creative needlework. She began to market her own patterns and kits in 2007 and since then has become one of the most requested teachers in Australia. Wendy's book "Wild Blooms & Colorful Creatures" was published by C&T Publishing in 2014.
