Instructor: Melissa Carraway
One session class: 10:30 am to 4 pm
Repeats on the 4th Sunday of Each Month
Treat yourself and join Melissa Carraway on the fourth Sunday of the month for a day of quilting! Melissa is an accomplished quilter and expert teacher and we are thrilled that she is making Quilted Strait her headquarters for this new class adventure! The Basics and Beyond class will meet once a month and each month Melissa will demonstrate a skill, or tool needed to make a small project. Students in the class will be able to continue with the project Melissa has presented or students may work their own projects. Melissa will be available to help with consultation on the class project or on student projects. Melissa can offer advice on fabric selection, cutting, design and all the little tricks that make for success for traditional quilters and improv modern quilters as well. Class space is limited, so students must sign up for the class in advance to guarantee a place. Choose a month to attend or come to them all.
The first class will be September 22, 2019. The topic for the September class will be mitered corners. The project is a baby receiving blanket that takes 1 1/4 yards of flannel and 1 yard of a complimentary flannel. Students need to bring sewing machine, sewing tools, rotary cutting equipment and any project that the student would like to work on in class in addition to or instead of the receiving blanket.
