This beautiful design from Avlea Embroidery was inspired by a little Byzantine ornamented motif that was most likely used in either an illuminated manuscript or as part of a fresco decorative scheme. It features a lovely rose--reminiscent of a Tudor rose--in the center, encircled by a charming vine border.
This is a terrific design for beginners as you learn five embroidery stitches and there is a helpful how-to video.
