Instructor: Kathy Ruwe
One session class: Sunday, June 2, 2019, 12 pm to 4 pm
There are many way to piece string quilts and this fun quilt is pieced on a muslin foundation. String quilts are a good ways to use up scraps or feature a favorite group of fabrics. Kathy's fabric choices in her quilt include fabric from men's shirts. Using a muslin foundation for the fabrics means that the "strings" or strips of fabric all stay square, making this a great method for quilters with just a little bit of experience as well as advanced quilters. The blocks can be set in many different ways, creating a variety of secondary patterns, and Kathy's instruction will include piecing using a muslin foundation and assembling the quilt, as well as ideas for setting the blocks in your quilt. The finished blocks are an eight inch square, Kathy's quilt is 6 blocks x 6 blocks, 48" square, but you can make your quilt any size that you like.
