Tinsel Block of the Month - 3-10

Welcome to Tinsel - Sue Spargo's celebration of the Christmas tree. This  ten month Block of the Month program will have you creating this heirloom wool applique piece that will become part of your own holiday celebration. Participants in the program will receive all of the wool, background fabric and embellishment thread needed for top of the quilt and the Tinsel pattern book. The book also contains directions for the Tinsel Workbox and Snowman and Christmas Tree pincusions. 

Each tree shows off its own decor with embroidered festive lights, baubles, and miniature mittens and stockings. Participants will learn basic background layering techniques for cotton fabrics and techniques for textural background stitching. In addition, you will learn to use a variety of embroidery stitches to enhance your wool applique. 

Please note the Tinsel pattern does not include stitch directions, instead references Sue Spargo's CREATIVE STITCHING. Finished wallhanging measures 22" x 25"

Not sure how to get started or how to do a particular stitch? You are welcome to join our slow stitching group that meets the second Wednesday of each month and get help from Ann, our resident embroidery guru!

The program is $82.50 for the first month and $33.25 per month for the remaining months.

The first month participants will receive:

• The Tinsel pattern book (if you already have the book, drop us an email and we will credit you for the cost of the book.
• Embellishment thread pack which will contain all of the embellishment threads you will need for the quilt
• Background and wool for Block #1
