Explore the possibilities of adding beads to your fabric art. Whether for quilts, jewelry, 3-D fabric objects, or wearable art, beads, buttons, and assorted ephemera can add texture, glimmer, and interest. This class will cover materials, tools, and techniques, including a wide variety of beading stitches. We will also discuss the uses of beads as mere highlights on a larger project, and also creating a fully encrusted piece to either stand alone or to be incorporated into a larger item. A beading kit is provided in class for practice, but students may bring a project they are considering for beading to review possible designs. Appropriate for beginners.
